Kid Birthday Cards

Here's a couple of cards which would work well for children.

The first uses the Pun Fun Stamp set and the Celebrations DS Paper.

The little bird is coloured with Watercolour pencils and the AquaPainter.

The 2nd uses the Punch Bunch Stamp set (FREE Sale-a-bration Stamp Set), the Owl Punch and the Celebrations DS Paper.

The Celebrations DS Paper is great for bright, bold, cheery cards.

What's your easiest card to make? Kids? Female? Floral? Christmas?

Thanks for popping in!

Birthday Balloons

This card is a blatant CASE of Alisa's balloon card on her newsletter.

Instead of a balloon stamp, I've used oval punches and the Celebrations DS Paper, and drew the balloon strings freehand. I really need to get another 'birthday' stamp set!

But I like the colours in the Celebrations paper and the cardstock matches well : Bashful Blue, Real Red & Old Olive.

The little sentiment is from the 'Teeny Tiny Sentiments' stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Black Magic Technique

Hi again!

Here is a technique you may or may not have heard of. The 'Black Magic' technique. It is really quite striking when it's done.

It's been around for years and I don't know why I've only just decided to give it a try.

Here's how you do it.
1. Stamp your 'solid' stamp (as oppposed to an 'outline' stamp) on dark cardstock with Whisper White ink.

2. Allow to dry, or quicken the process by drying with your Heat Tool.

3. Using the Stampin' Up! Watercolour Pencils, colour your image in, starting with darker colours toward the centre and working your way out. Don't worry if not all the 'white' is covered.

4. Use the White Signo Gel Pen and highlight the edges of the stamped image. Add extra detail if you wish.

I've used several stamp sets in these examples - the 'Medallion' stamp, the 'Upsy Daisy' stamp (not the best pic...maybe the worst! :) ), and the 'Bliss' (Sale-a-bration) stamp.

There are only a couple of weeks left until Sale-a-bration is OVER for another year, and the chance of these free stamp sets disappears. These stamp sets do not appear in any future catalogues.

Phone or email if you'd like to place an order.
If you order before March 20th, you might be my Mystery Hostess for the month!

Little Calendars

Here's a couple of pics of a project I was recently working on...there ended up being quite a few made! (and as normal, it took a lot longer than expected...but when you have children, anything can take much longer as it's hard to find blocks of uninterrupted time! :) )

These are little fridge calendars with magnets on the back.

They feature the beautiful 'Elements of Style' stamp set and the Stampin' Up! watercolour pencils and Aquapainter.

Til next time,

Faux Silk Technique

Yes, the slack is back! :)

Here's a technique to try. It's called 'Faux Silk'.

I've used the Eastern Blooms stamp set and Stampin' Write Markers for this project.

1. Colour branch with Stampin' Write Markers.
2. Stamp onto Whisper White card.
3. Take a piece of white tissue paper and using your glue stick, adhere it over the stamped image.
4. Don't be fussy about smoothing it out, as wrinkles are part of the effect! :)

Variation: You can also stamp straight onto the tissue paper, then adhere this to the whisper white card. Just gives a different effect to the stamped image.

Happy stamping!
Thanks for dropping in!
