Big Shot Boxes

Here are a couple of versions of a box (Box #2 Die) with handle I made with a class recently.

We used the Big Shot for the Box (Box #2 Die), the decorative trim (Tasteful Trim Die - Mini Catalogue) and the butterflies (Beautiful Wings Embosslits).

The girls also used rollers, stamps, punches, 'bling', and brads to finish off their creations.

Lots of cute little boxes! :)

To think that we used to print and cut out these boxes by hand - I love the Big Shot!! It makes creating these things a breeze.

Paper Pinwheels

Pinwheels seem to be a trend at the moment. I was inspired by Nicole Derendorf's pinwheels HERE for a recent class project.

These 2 examples are made from Stampin' Up!'s Pear Pizzaz DS Paper.

Check out Carla's Scraps for the tutorial to make the Decorative Lable Punch Frame.

Check out her whole website for heaps of tutorials, punch ideas and creative-ness :)

Little Gift Cards

Here's a few of the pile of 'Thank You' gift cards I made for July. Hmmm I think I like Rich Razzleberry...alot!! :)

These fit in Stampin' Up!'s cute Mini Square Envelopes (pk of 40)

These butterflies were cut from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits using the Big Shot, and the sentiment is from the 'Elements of Style' stamp set, stamped in Early Espresso ink.

Add a little Basic Pearl and it's done.

(These pearls are terrific value - $9.95 for a sheet of 150 of 3 different sizes)

What's on your creative 'to do' list this week? Creations for others? Some scheduled 'Just-because-I-NEED-to-make-something' time ?! :)

Happy creating!

What?! Scrapbooking?!???

Yes, surprisingly I do occasionally do a bit of scrapbooking! I've always predominately been a card-maker, but have started a scrap album for now 2 of our children. Way way behind of course, but better late than never!

I had someone once tell me 'Scrap your most recent photos first'

It makes sense! You'll forever feel like you're on 'catch up' if you don't. Smart cookie!

Anyway, enough of my blather...
Here's a double 12x12 layout I made for a recent scrap class. The theme was 'Birthday'.

So I chose the 'Celebration' Designer Series Papers, coordinating coloured cardstock, and used punches and the Big Shot for all the accessories. No stamping at all on this layout!

Colours: Real Red, Pacific Point, Basic Black, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz
Punches: Wide Oval, Heart to Heart, both Square punches
Big Shot: Tasteful Trim Die, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet

What are your best Scrapping tips?

Sanded Embossing Technique

Here's a quick easy technique to try with your Big Shot and Embossing Folders.

It's called the 'Sanded Embossing' Technique

I've used some current Designer Series paper, run it through the Big Shot with several different Embossing Folders, then lightly sanded across the raised areas with the Sanding Block.

Looks really effective on the bold colours!

(Embossing Folders used: Manhattan Flower, Elegant Lines, Petals-a-Plenty)

Give it a go!

Emboss Resist Cards

Have you tried the Emboss Resist technique? It's pretty fun!

Here I've used some Greenhouse Gala Designer Series paper as a backdrop.

1. Ink your stamp with Versamark. The 'Medallion' stamp used here.

2. Stamp onto DS Paper

3. Sprinkle on Clear Embossing Powder

4. Shake off excess

5. Using the Heat Tool, 'melt' the embossing powder.

6. Take sponge or sponge dauber, and darker ink (Early Espresso here), and sponge around and over the embossed image. It'll start to 'pop' out.

7. Add more colour for definition.

8. Use this panel for your project and 'dizzy' it up as desired.

Give it a go yourself! Have fun!

Male Shirt Cards

Father's Day is now less than 2 months away for we Aussies, but male cards are always in demand so I've made a couple at recent workshops.

This is a simple origami fold shirt, one with 'buttons' and the other with a tie (however classy your man may be :) ).

I've added a bit of texture with the Square Lattice embossing folder and roughed up the edges.

The sentiment is from 'Teeny Tiny Sentiments', and punches used are the Word Window punch & the Modern Label punch which work so well together.

If you want instructions for the shirt fold, just email me.

Til next time,
Anna :)
